Miri's Relationship with Oatmeal
Hmmm...where do I start. It goes like this: Every morning, Miri asks for a bowl of oatmeal. I happily cook her a tasty bowl of old fashioned oats in the microwave and sprinkle brown sugar on the top. She eagerly digs into the oatmeal with her spoon, and manages to get most of it in her mouth. But, inevitably, little drips of oatmeal will get on her tummy and her panties. Then the crying begins, "I have to take my panties off! They're so dirty!" She proceeds to take her panties off and then resumes eating her oatmeal. A minute or two later, she will end up getting oatmeal on her chair. "My chair is sooo dirty! I need a new one" she cries! She then proceeds to switch to a different chair. A minute or two later, she gets oatmeal on the new chair. And it's the same thing once again: "My chair is soooo dirty! I need a new one!" By the time breakfast is over, Miri has sat on and dirtied every chair around the kitchen table. You may be asking: why do you let this happen? Why do you put up with this? The simple answer is this: I don't know. I'm too tired to care in the morning. I just let it happen...over and over and over again...until finally it has become the morning oatmeal routine. And after she has finished her bowl of oatmeal, she will ask for more! In the past, I have given her a little bit more...but we have come to realize that on the second bowl of oatmeal, she just digs out the pieces of brown sugar.
